Showers in Season

"I will make them and the places surrounding my hill a blessing. I will send down showers in season; there will be showers of blessing." — Ezekiel 34:26
There was a time when I thought being blessed simply meant receiving. More provision. More opportunities. More favor. But the older I get, the more I realize that God's blessings were never meant to stop with me.
In Ezekiel 34:26, God says that He will make His people a blessing. Not just blessed… but a blessing. That changes everything. I am blessed, yes. But I am also called to bless.
God promises to send showers in season. Not sprinkles. Not just enough to survive. Showers. Abundance. Overflow. But overflow carries responsibility. If we're not prepared to steward what God places in our hands, what was meant to nourish can become overwhelming. Blessings require wisdom. Favor requires faithfulness. Increase requires stewardship.
There are seasons when God is teaching us how to wait. There are other seasons when He is teaching us how to carry what we've been praying for. Both matter. The beautiful part of this promise is that it isn't just about receiving. It's about producing.
Scripture goes on to say that the trees will yield their fruit and the ground will yield its crops. There will be evidence of God's faithfulness. The people will know that He is Lord. That's the kind of fruit I want in my life… not for recognition, but for His glory. May we be people who are ready when the showers come. People who receive with gratitude. People who give with generosity. People who yield fruit that points back to the One who provided it all. Because the greatest blessing isn't simply having more. It's becoming someone through whom others experience the goodness of God.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for every blessing You have poured into my life. Teach me to steward well what You entrust to me. Prepare my heart for every season… whether waiting or receiving. Let my life bear fruit that reflects Your goodness, and may everything You do in and through me bring honor and glory to Your name. Amen.
